Cindy Jennings, Marketing Director

cindy_jennings2President, Volition Strategies

Believing that companies can be more profitable by looking at their business using expanded tools beyond traditional balance sheet items, Cindy Jennings founded Volition Strategies to show skeptics and believers alike that sustainability is more than a buzzword – it’s an improved way of doing business. Cindy gained her skills and perspective via tough industries including foodservice, airlines, dotcom startups and logistics. She’s been helping companies determine their position in the marketplace and using that distinction to gain market share for nearly 20 years using a combination of common sense, challenging the status quo and experience from both ingenuity and the school of hard knocks. For the past five years, Cindy has used formal and informal training to look at companies in a new light using what she calls a ‘sustainability filter’ meaning she looks at the interrelationship of profits and long-term access to high-value human and material resources.

Cindy has held leadership positions both within employers and the community. Past employers include Frontier Airlines, RegOnline and Cohn Marketing where she most recently served as the Vice President of Marketing and Client Brand Strategy before launching Volition Strategies to focus full time on incorporating responsible business practices. Cindy is active in the business community serving as the marketing chair for the Rocky Mountain CleanTech Open, board member at large for Women in Sustainable Energy and Business Marketing Association Colorado and a member of the Policy Committee and Transportation Committee for the Colorado Cleantech Industry Association.

Cindy received her BS in Hotel/Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’ premier program and a Masters of Law in Resources Law Studies from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law. When not wrapping her mind around an intricate business challenge, Cindy loves to travel and study other cultures and ecosystems counting Argentina, Iceland and Costa Rica among her favorites to date.
